Short version: your bank files never leave your device.

Files

CSV, text and spreadsheet files you open in Bankfold are read and converted by code running in your browser. Their contents — transactions, account numbers, balances — are never transmitted to us or anyone else.

Data stored in your browser

We store your export settings (account type, account number, currency, bank ID), the column layouts you've corrected, and, if you buy Pro, your license key in your browser's local storage, so you don't have to re-enter them. Clear site data to remove them anytime.

License validation

If you activate Pro, your license key (and nothing else) is sent to our payment provider's license API to confirm it is valid. When you click a buy button or reach a Pro-only feature, the site asks the payment provider whether checkout is open (nothing about you or your files is sent).

Hosting logs

Like any website, our host may log standard request data (IP address, user agent, pages requested) for security and reliability. We do not use advertising trackers or analytics cookies.

Payments

Purchases are processed by our merchant-of-record payment partner, which handles your payment details and sales tax under its own privacy policy. We never see your card number.
